A key tradition on Anzac Day is The Ode, the fourth stanza of Laurence Binyon’s poem For the Fallen. First gaining prominence in 1919 at the unveiling of the London Cenotaph, it was later read at the laying of the foundation stone of the Australian War Memorial in 1929.
